Dr Thomas Keller
Thomas Keller is currently the Head of the Forensic Toxicology Department and Chief Toxicologist at the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Paris-Lodron University of Salzburg, Austria. I am a Forensic Toxicologist GTFCh and hold a degree of a Doctor of Science (Chemistry). Since 2005, I have also held a degree as a Professor at the Interfaculty Department of Forensic Medicine and Forensic Neuropsychiatry at the Paris-Lodron University of Salzburg.
Since then, I have been authorised to teach (“venia docendi”) the subject of “Forensic Toxicology”. Ever since then I am a lecturer for the topic of “Forensic Toxicology” for graduate and undergraduate students at the Paris-Lodron University of Salzburg.
Since 1998 I am a generally sworn and court-certified expert in Forensic Toxicology and member of the Austrian Association of Generally Sworn and Court-certified Experts. I have testified in numerous antemortem and postmortem cases in courts throughout the federal states of Salzburg, Upper Austria and Lower Austria. Since 1999 I am member of the Society of Toxicological and Forensic Chemistry (GTFCh).
In 2004 I became member and board member of the Austrian Association of Forensic Medicine (ÖGGM). Since 2005, I have been an active member of The International Association of Forensic Toxicologists (TIAFT) and was appointed as TIAFT Regional Representative for Austria in 2012.
Since 2013 I am also member of the European Workplace Drug Testing Society (EWDTS). I am also a SOFT and ICADTS member. I am a reviewer for numerous scientific journals and member of the Editorial Board for the journal Forensic Science Research (FSR). I have also published many papers on topics related to antemortem or postmortem forensic toxicology.
