Dr David Duarte Lima

David Duarte Lima is a professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Brasilia. A statistician with a postgraduate degree in Demography, a master's degree in Public Health and a doctorate in Traffic Safety from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, he did a postdoctoral degree in Portugal at the University of Minho. He has been studying mobility issues for over 30 years.
He participated in several traffic surveys and was the Coordinator of the National Traffic Council—CONTRAN. He also coordinated the Forum for Peace in Traffic.
As a professor and President of the IST-Brazilian Institute of Traffic Safety-he has had an important and frequent presence in the media with radio and TV interviews and has published articles in several newspapers.
He has published dozens of scientific works and several books, including “The Art of Teaching How to Drive,” “The Motorcyclist,” and the four-volume collection “Conscious Traffic.”
